Saffron in the spotlight!
03/22/2022Kozani saffron is a product of top-quality organic farming and therefore, sought after worldwide. The golden tresure of the Greek land as it is often called, is one of the most valuable spices due to its delicate, fine and delicate aroma and the discreet taste it gives to food, its special, red-orange color, but also its medicinal and aphrodisiac properties. It is known since ancient times and, according to tradition, Cleopatra used it in her cosmetics, due to its anti-aging and antioxidant action.
The demanding conditions for its production (one acre yields only 700 grams up to 1 kg of saffron per year while the harvest is done by hand) justify its high cost, which, however, considering the flavor it adds to food and its health benefits, is worth it. After all, a minimum amount is enough!
Saffron can be used either in drinks or in cooking as a spice both in salty or sweet dishes.
